Teso South NG-CDF has today reclaimed land at Amukura TTC that was unlawfully occupied, initiating the process by demolishing unauthorized fence.
A team of six county surveyors from the county government of Busia led by Mr. Geoffrey Kamadi, emphasized that land reclamation action serves as a stern warning to those encroaching on government property without acknowledging historical landmarks
Mr Kamadi highlighted that one of the neighbours’ to Amukura TTC had encroached the land, questioning the legitimacy of land sales by unauthorized parties and urging potential buyers to verify land ownership carefully.
Mr.Kamadi directed the land encroacher to demolish his fence to allow the college to demarcate a road reserve that has been in existence since time memorial.
Happy that Kaujakito location chief Mr. Joseph Ikemer, reiterated that the land in question was originally bought by myself for the construction of the college during my first term tenure in 2013-2017 and criticized the encroachers for acting in their own interests rather than representing the Kamunuoit Community
Mr. Ikemer recalled that the encroached area was part of the road reserve that links Kamunuoit and Apokor villages. He mentioned that previous attempts to have the illegal occupant vacate were met with claims that the land was part of their parcel.
